It is still hot in AZ, but working with my character Irena has me thinking back to when I wondered about the essentials of my spirit. So here is some art and poetry from when I lived in CO.
They stand naked now
Throughout the city, stripped
For the cold, every
Beautiful detail etched in
Snow.
I watch their skeletons
Scrape against the full
Winter sky. Patient, quiet
They stand. Simply waiting for
Spring.
If you should strip me
To my skeleton would people
Wonder at the beauty of
My bare bones against the darkening
Sky?
