Though in America we celebrate the eve of all Hollows with costumes and parties, this time of year is really dedicated to remembering those who have gone before us. Today is the day to remember and honor the saints, and tomorrow we remember our dead.
All over Europe the dead are traditionally honored with candles, flowers, food and maintaining grave sites.

Though the Catholic church took over this holiday, it was a tradition long before Catholicism. It is the time of year when the barrier between the living and the dead is the thinnest. So today, I am remembering my son. I remember him for the funny, mischievous, lovable kid that he was. So light a candle for your own dead today, spend a little time remembering and honoring.
